Post 9/11 warnings of a terror attack on the power grid seemed to come to fruition in 2003. That was when some 50 million people where affected by what turned out to be the second most widespread blackout in history.  It was a wake up call for many of us.

A group of us decided it was time to buy some generators. Honda was a common name we were all familiar with but, they were too expensive. We found  a similar generator made in China. It cost less than Honda.We received two of them for evaluation and to demonstrate to others. The response was positive.

Collectively the group of us with backgrounds in electrical trades, marketing and customer service, became the largest online distributor of these generators in North America. Unfortunately like many products, the manufacturer started to trade quality for cost savings. We were not happy with the direction this product was taking us.  We had to find another niche.

That niche was diesel generators. Diesel engines have a much higher compression ratio than gasoline engines. Because of this, the strength of parts used is much higher. Since they can last more than twice as long, diesel was far more appealing to us. The trouble was, and the advantage today is, the markets flooded with low quality made in China generators. So many other brands are all virtually the same product with just another name on it.

For Aurora diesel generators to be unique, we designed them differently. We also used higher-quality materials and performed our own quality control. We also added features not found on other products. More importantly, we would prove to consumers that we have a better product. This is how we did it.

Aurora portable generators were submitted to nationally recognized testing laboratories such as Underwriters Laboratories, Canadian Standards Association and ETL. The generators passed rigorous testing for quality, durability and electrical safety codes. The entire unit is now certified, not just a few components. Founder Hardy Day grew up in a small town in west Texas Called Knox City. At age 18, tired of picking cotton, Hardy went to Nashville and landed a job picking the stand up bass for Cowboy Copas on the grand ole opera. In the late 50's Hardy knew and mingled with all the best including Hank Williams 1st and Chet Atkins. Cowboy Copas died in a plane crash with Patsy cline in 1963. At the time Hardy had grown tired of a life on the road as a musician and needed a new career.

Hardy found work as a salesman in a business college and soon started San Diego college of business. After ten years or so he so

ld it. With plenty of Time on his hands Hardy was doing a lot of fishing in Baja California. In baja, there is not much electricity available and what was available was very unreliable. In 1977 Hardy was in the market for a Diesel generator for his place in Baja. Problem was there were no Diesel generators available on the market at that time that were reasonably priced. He decided to build his own small diesel generator. After he built his first diesel generator his friends all wanted one. Word spread and before he knew it, he was the world's largest direct supplier of small diesel generators. Only problem was he didn't have much time to fish. Luckily son Loren Day had already taken a real interest in the Diesel generator business. Diesel generators and engines had always been a good fit with Loren. Well before long Hardy was spending most of his time on the beach in Baja and Loren had taken over the Diesel generator business.

Angus & Wright are the sole European distributors of System Packaging of Ohio. We now have many installations throughout The EC, supplying the largest range of System Packaging Coldseal Machinery, supported by a wide range of materials.

We remain a UK based company using Local Agents based throughout Europe, as well as French and German staff in the UK office. This enables detailed understanding of customer requirements to be quickly and efficiently communicated.

In 1991 the first 4 head corner rounder was born, and from that day the company was more and more dedicated to the production of corner rounding machines.

In the year 2002 JEMATIC ApS was founded, and Jerry Malling Olesen sold the company to Jens H Nielsen.

The founder Jens H Nielsen, were long time working in a large Danish electronic and machine building company, designing various electronic and electromechanical products before starting JEMATIC ApS. Cleveland Brothers Equipment Co., Inc. can trace its origin back to 1937 when Bob and Roy Cleveland started a landscaping contracting company. The company evolved through the years working on numerous high profile jobs. In search of new opportunities, Bob and Roy took over the Caterpillar dealership in Central Pennsylvania.

On Jan. 1 1948, Cleveland Brothers was formed. In 1965, Roy stayed at Cleveland Brothers while Bob moved to New York to pursue other dealer opportunities. Bob and Roy's father, C.W. "Dad" Cleveland, was hired as the purchasing agent for the company. Roy's son, Jay, began working at his father's company in 1961. In 1963, Bill Kirchhoff married Jean Cleveland, Roy's Daughter.

In 1988, Jay Cleveland Jr. joined the company and is currently president/chief executive officer. Tom Kirchhoff joined the company in 1994 and is currently the executive vice president and chief operating officer of the company. As Jay and Bill's sons take the same path, Cleveland Brothers remains a family oriented business. Meeting the needs of its customers has always been Cleveland Brothers' focal point.

On October 10, 2005 Cleveland Brothers acquired Beckwith Machinery Company. In addition Cleveland Brothers also acquired One Call Rentals, a network of Cat Rental Stores in Western Pennsylvania and Northern West Virginia. One Call Rentals handles Caterpillar compact construction equipment and allied equipment such as air compressors and aerial lifts.

The transition allowed the Cleveland Brothers family of companies to serve 59 Pennsylvania counties in an area that stretches from the Northeast corner of the state throughout all of Central and Western Pennsylvania. Included in this new territory are 17 counties in Northern West Virginia and 2 in Western Maryland.

Every action the company takes, every decision it makes, is evaluated in terms of the impact on its customers and how they will profit. From the very beginning, Cleveland Brothers has known that for it to be successful, its customers must succeed.
